Ruling Elders

Ruling elders are chosen by the congregation to strengthen and nurture its faith and life.  They, along with the pastor, exercise leadership, government, spiritual discernment and discipline, and have responsibilities for the life of a congregation as well as the whole church.  When elected by the congregation, they serve faithfully as members of the Session

The Session meets the 2nd Sunday of each month following worship service.   All are welcome to attend.

The ministry of deacon is one of compassion, witness, and service, sharing in the redeeming love of Jesus Christ for the poor, the hungry, the sick, the lost, the friendless, the oppressed, those burdened by unjust policies or structures, or anyone in distress.

Presbyterian Women

Presbyterian Women (PW) is an independent organization within the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) of more than 300,000 women.  Presbyterian Women offers women in the church meaningful ways to live out their faith in the midst of a caring community of women.  Our women’s group has strengthened the Huntsville Presbyterian Church and played a major role in sharing the good news of Jesus Christ and witnessing to the promise of God’s kingdom.

Presbyterian Women meets the 2nd Wednesday of each month at 12:00 in our fellowship hall.
Please join us for lunch, fellowship, devotional, and bible study.

Huntsville PW singing on Mothers Day 2015.

 

Presbytery Women present a check to Sharon Smith, New Property Treasurer, to purchase appliances for our new fellowship hall kitchen.   The women have had several fundraising events to raise over $7,000,  and will purchase 2 refrigerators, 2 dishwashers,  4 sinks, 2 range hoods, 2 garbage disposals, and a microwave oven.

Presbyterian Women meet for a lovely Christmas lunch in the home of long time member, Sandra Reich.
